Sushi!

Alright, so Ashley and I had never had sushi before. So to celebrate Ashleys nineteenth birthday, we went out for lunch. It turned out to be one of the funnest lunches of my life! and sushi it turns out, is not so scary after all if you don't think about it too much and it tastes pretty yummy!
yeah. thats caviar on sushi. delish! and pretty cool lookin too

Ashley and i about to take our first bites of sushi! it was an epic moment.

Friends

These are my fantabulous bestest friends from school, Ashley and Josue. They are pretty much the greatest friends i could ask for and i am SO thankful for them. This is Josue tying to teach us how to latin dance. I think we are doing Bachata (don't know if thats spelled right at all) It was tons of fun! and very embarrasing but worth it.

Anatomy

For anatomy we had a day to practice drawing muscles on each other to better visualize them on a person. Well poor Josue got to have me and Ashley draw on him and i'm afraid we got a bit carried away with him at our mercy. we went out of our way to tickle him as much as possible. And Ashley had way too much fun digging into him whenever she got to draw a "deep" muscle. then we got tired of drawing muscles and started playing dot-to-dot on his back. he was very colorful by the time we were done with him. Then Ashley got drawn on too. she ended up with a fish.

Ok, the last few months i have been a HORRIBLE blogger so now i am on a blogging kick. And i have decided to give my camera another chance.

In October i started reading Jesus the Christ. It is a very enlightening and spiritual book. However, it is HUGE! and its not a light read either. it takes some focus. so i am still reading it four months later. but i'm past the halfway mark! the picture below shows how thick it is

A while back i started some casual painting and it escalated into painting my entire wall. which led to a full dejunking and cleaning and rearranging of my entire room. i stayed awake for over 24 hours because i had to get in done before going back to school on monday otherwise my room would have stayed a great big giant mess. The ship is from grandma and grandpa's house. Thanks for letting me keep it, Aleah! And thats my massage table down on the right there. Mom thought the whole thing was kinda cool, i think. She even helped me with it some. However, father was not so pleased. i think he plans to fix it once i move out. oh well.

Ever since i took a greenhouse class last year, i love taking care of plants. This week i got mother to buy me some root hormone and i made some plant babies. Aren't they cute? I hope they survive! The reproduction process is quite a rough one sometimes.

Concert/Competition

ok, sorry this took FOREVER to get on. i have not been taking pictures since my camera isn't my friend anymore and so i have not been blogging. so here is my story.
sometime at the beginning of january at one fateful band practice DeAnne (the pipe major) made a great big giant deal about solo competing. of course my first impulse was to ignore this speach because that is what i usually do. But then when Jim (a grumpy old fart who tells everybody what to do) cornered me, i gave in. So for the next month instead of my usually playing once or twice a week if at all, i began playing every chance i got and going to jim's in salt lake and DeAnne's in cedar hills for lessons. i even took my pipes to school to play on lunch breaks! Well all this training and hard work caught up to me because the tuesday before the competition i got horribly sick. i couldn't talk or breath and my head wanted to explode and my lungs wanted to crawl out of my chest! But i had told everybody i knew and their dogs to come to the concert and i had worked too hard to compete to give up. So with an exploding head, i braved the concert and it was fabulous!

Well the next day was the competition. i woke up at five and got myself over to the barclays to get a ride. Well it so happens that the wonderful people i was getting a ride to Davis county with were also giving two of the judges a lift. The piping judge heard hacking up a lung an thought i had swine flu and he would not stand by me even though i reassured him it was nothing more than a horrible no good very bad cough. Well i went to the competition and played my tunes and then waited around anxiously for my scores. Turnes out i got fifth place in one and first place in the other one! who woulda thought?? Well i was really very exited about this but i didn't act like it because after two solo events and my throat trying to suffocate me and i was not a very happy girl. and to further my distress, there were two more band events that are five times more exhausting! but we got first and second place in those, hurray, hurray! Anyway, by the end of the day i just wanted to curl up in a ball and die but some very good things came out of it too. I don't have any pictures from the competiton because i was relying on someone to email them to me but they never came. and sorry this post is so forever long!
